Hakawa Park

This is a water park located on the banks of the Niyodo River, known by the nickname “Niyodo Blue. In summer, the park is crowded with many people who come to enjoy the river. Because of its wide riverbed and proximity to Kochi City, the park has the largest number of visitors in the river basin. Located along the national highway, there are supermarkets, convenience stores, and lodging facilities nearby, making it ideal for camping and playing in the water. There are shallow areas where even children can bathe in the water. (Note that the closer you get to the center of the river, the deeper the river bottom becomes and the faster the current becomes.) The nearby “Mizuibe-no-eki Nikoniko Kan” rents out barbecue equipment and provides foodstuffs. The Niyodo River Bridge, built more than 90 years ago, offers a magnificent view of the Niyodo River.

Hane Park

Hane Park – A place of relaxation where nature and history are in harmony~

Hane Park is a community-based park located in Ino-cho, Kochi Prefecture, and together with Namikawa Park on the other side of the river, is a popular place for relaxation in the Niyodo River basin. In spring, the park is decorated with cherry blossoms blooming along the embankment, attracting many visitors as a cherry blossom viewing spot. In summer, the park is the site of Ino Town’s fireworks display, the “Machimin Festival,” and the large fireworks display that colors the night sky makes the town a spectacular sight to behold. Not only locals but also tourists can enjoy the seasonal atmosphere of the park. Around the park, there are many spaces suitable for picnics and walking, as well as for walking pets and leisure activities with family members. In particular, the Niyodo River on the Hane Park side has a gentle current, making it a safe spot for even small children to enjoy playing in the water. Near the park, there is Sugimoto Shrine, nicknamed “Okunisama,” and the Ino-cho Paper Museum, where visitors can experience washi paper culture and come into contact with history and tradition. It is expected that the park will work in tandem with these local resources to promote the town’s attractions and revitalize the community. Hane Park has the potential to be a tourist resource while remaining close to the lives of the local people. While coexisting with the nature of the Niyodo River, Hane Park provides a peaceful space for all visitors.
